"A fantastic three sessions of street dance - Booma inspired a load of my students from Years Seven to Thirteen with his energy, cool moves and enthusiasm - they are raring to go now and he has helped me no end to develop dance here at our school, starting in September..."
Louise Walley Queenethelburgas, 2008“The children were inspired and motivated by Booma's teaching. They enjoyed their sessions immensely, especially the performance at the end.”
Martin Wynne Hirst Courtney School, 2008“Just wanted to say thank you again for your sessions yesterday - they were perfect and just what we wanted. We have had really good feedback from the students as well”.
Susan Springall Nidderdale School, 2008 (Celebrating Cultural Diversity Day)“The dance sessions with Booma were by far the most impressive and enjoyable lessons taken by an out of school dance teacher that I have experienced. The children were inspired and couldn't wait from one session to the next. Pupils that had never really shown much of an interest in dance were suddenly composing routines and performing at a level that I could have never imagined! Not only did Booma prepare an amazing street/break dance routine for a dance festival he also choreographed two further dances for our end of year school play! The response from parents was fantastic; many commented that it was the best play the school had ever produced - much of this was down to the rapping and dance routines that Booma played such a big part in. We'll be definitely booking him next year for more of the same!”.
Steven Capewell 2008“The dance event today was fab. My little boy Kai is 7 and took part in the event and loved it. I think it is so good to see the children doing dance performances like this. Keep up the good work and you need to start a street dance club for the younger ones in the Selby area”!
Audience member Brayton Cluster Dance Festival, 2009 2008Cool dance moves earned students from Brayton College a top award as they put their best feet forward during a prestigious competition. The Smooth movers grabbed bronze at the Libby Mustill York and North Yorkshire County dance showcase held at Harrogate Grammar School on February 24.
Dance teacher Michelle Cartwright choose the Booma dance students for the competition due to their hard work and commitment at the college Christmas dance evening.
A spokeswoman for the Doncaster Road learning base said: “This was an excellent opportunity for the students to perform at such an event. There where medals for first, second and third place, and it was great to achieve bronze medals. “There were dancers from All Saints RC School, York High School, Selby High School (another Booma dance group), Josephs Rowntree School, Archbishop Holgates School, Stokesly School and Barlby School.
“Miss Cartwright was very proud of the dancers as they worked so hard. Other dancers competing were coming up to Brayton College students and saying we should have won!”
